I'm ssoooo mad...all of a sudden in the past couple of days, all my downloaded music on my sd card has been deleted. Any suggestions on how to restore my music? My husbands cell did the same thing....
Help and frustrated!

Usually it's not gone its just hidden.. Try looking in your music dir with a file manager

You didn't by any chance use the "make more space" function in the settings menu? I did, and it apparently felt my music files were "temporary files in HTC apps." I had to reload my files.

Yes, it appears I did make more space, but did not know the music files were temp. So, I guess there is no place to pull these files from a rabbits hat? oh, this is so depressing...ugh. thx....wallyiam!

I went back in, and it says I have about 2G of "temp" files. It must be my music, so I think that's definitely the culprit. I'd be pissed if I didn't have my iTunes folders to restore them.

Is the OP stock or on one of the last two leaks? I noticed the same thing yesterday. I'm currently on leak #2 and never had any issues, stock or ICS leak #1. Astro shows all of my music in mnt/sdcard. I even copied them to sdcard2 but Poweramp can't find in a full system scan. The only thing it's picking up is the google (play)music cache files, which are all listed as untagged MP3s. Coming from an O.G. Droid, the one thing that I can't stand is the confusing SD path.

<edit> Just went into individual music files are they are all empty.

This is stock op. I pulled the sd card and tried to see on my computer if it was just hidden..but nothing on it. Any suggestions???? Anyway to recover?

I have not experienced the problem of missing music.

Personally, I download all movies and music onto my laptop computer.
From the laptop computer I copy these files to the Rezound's removable SD card.

It is a habit from my iTunes days.
Also, what happens to your music if your phone is lost or stolen?
It is a good habit to first store the music on your computer/laptop for safekeeping and then copy to the phone.

Howard

Solution

The solution for this is to make a new Folder with a different name and put all your music there.
The problem you have its that an app is owning your music folder.

I was under the impression, from other threads, that the folder had to be named "Music" for the native app to recognize the files.

I have been having problems with missing music as well. Randomly some songs are missing from the htc music app but clearly still on my sd card(I check using astro) but if I do a restart then all is back to normal...happens every couple days kind of annoying but that's the only issue I have with this phone...

When this happens to me, I just use an app called rescan sd and it makes everything that was missing from your sd card not being read able to be seen again

When I went to back up my music files on dropbox I found my music in two different files. One was named music and the other was named mp3. I condensed them both to the music file and left a copy on dropbox. I clear that temp file every couple of days and it never touched my music file.
