music player auto-starts almost everytime I plug in earphones....??

I know this issue has probably been addressed before but I didn't search that far(yes I'm a little lazy) Now there could be worse things going on with my phone but my issue is basically what the title say. Almost anytime I insert my earphones into the jack the music player that comes with the phone starts playing my music automatically. I can see why this might be looked at as a convenient 'feature' to some but a find it a little annoying. IS THERE ANY OPTION TO TOGGLE WITH TO PREVENT THIS??? It's just a little annoying to have to keep closing it every time I plug in my buds, and it doesn't make any sense for this to have to happen with no way to disable it.
thanks for reading lol

This is not a feature on the droid... it's a side effect of using the wrong type of headphone jack... I would bet this happens to you on a pair of stereo earbuds with NO microphone...

Stereo headphones have only three posts on the plug

Stereo "headsets" have four posts... giving another contact for the mic and the call answer button... on the droid, the call answer button on the headset also starts and stops the music when not on a call

When plugging in three post headphones it grounds out the mic post and sends a false signal to the music player to start the music... you might also notice if you try to unplug to answer a call, the earpiece on the phone doesn't work

Problems related to three post headphones have not been addressed with a fix yet

Even if Android is interpreting a plugged-in jack as a false signal to start the music, there must be a way to disable it from starting the music player on that signal.

Isn't there a way to disable that functionality in Android?

same problem: headphones with Mic- spontaneous music

This is driving me crazy. Just starts playing music constantly. Just started but is getting more frequent.

I'm sorry but you guys are wrong it IS a feature of some music apps. I'm not sure what other apps have this functionality but I know it is included in PowerAmp.
