Wanted to root for awhile now as an avid customization lover. Tried to read as much as I could, and unfortunately overlooked the problem with the droid x camera button. I was making sure everything was fine and since warranty is up why not take a breath of freedom so rooted without a problem. Understand the idea behind SBF without ever doing so. also understand that RSD Lite can be glitchy with DX and in general. Would love to install Liberty3 v2.0, but at this point want to know what I can install with Rom Manager since I cannot use the camera button in bootstrap. Just asking what can I safely use at this point and what is my best choice with rom manager straight-up unless there is someway around the droid X camera button.
Not sure what your referring to about the camera button. I have flashed ssx, liberty, liquid, and vortex. All good roms. My favorite so far though is vortex. You should be able to flash any of those.
eh... between not having anything for awhile and getting bored... and missing some functionality of cm... not really... but i just flashed the cm9 by X13thangelX... and that seems to have fixed that...
it seems allot smoother then encounter...
here's the link for that one http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-x-roms/199030-cyanogenmod-9-beta.html#post2022094
Apparently certain X models had hardware issues from the get go (bad wiring/soldering) and it was definately my fault for not foreseeing or reading enough into it, but at this point am wondering what I am safe with installing as a rom using Rom Manager after rooting from .605 with the Droid 3 Root. Pretty P'od that the cam button never crossed my mind, but since I had the phone it never seemed as though it was very important and that again was where I really screwed up.

not sure about using rom manager to flash this... i've never really liked the idea of something else installing things... but i understand your predicament... with rom manger... it's more of a hit and miss if will install properly... not rom specific... so this should work as good as any... just have it make a back up first... reboot... then tell it to wipe... and install... good luck....
I already backed up ADW, TI, and made a Nandroid using Rom Manager, but unsure how well that works after reading here and there. My main worry is bricking. And if it is best for me to just go as is tell me so and I understand completely...
