My Wife Doesnt Like Her Droid

Her main complaint is that they keyboard isn't as good and it takes too many steps to do the same things.

All valid complaints from other people here in the past.

For one I love mine and would never switch.

She may stick it out. She has to have a real keyboard.

I don't see what the big deal is. Pure and simple, the Droid isn't for everybody. All you have to do is go to Crackberry.com and read the Storm 2 thread, you'd be surprised how many people come back to a Storm over a Droid. Not the majority, no but it's simply not everyone's cup of tea.

My wife had a Blackberry Curve and I was real surprised when she told me she was going to get a Droid. I thought "More phone then she needs - or could handle," but much to my surprise she's adapted quite well and easily. She prefers the physical keyboard, and with all the comments I saw in this forum about moving contacts from Outlook to Gmail I was surprised that she didn't complain about that. I asked her how she did it and she looked at me with a puzzled look on her face and said, "I followed the directions. It was easy."

So what's perfect for her, doesn't work for your wife. Oh well, that's the way it goes. It's a great phone but just not for everyone.

I second it for Palm Pre Plus. It set up and works super easy. The contacts and email is so much more polished then Android. My wife has that and it made it possible for her to get a smartphone. Doesn't have real push email like the bb unfortunately but you have wifi tethering now at no charge. Never needs a reboot and the battery seems to be holding a good charge with her use.
Its a very under rated phone and OS i hope the survive in the end.

Palm's in too much trouble as a company for me to ever consider getting any of their products. Sadly. WebOS is so nice for it to die so young.

Just something to keep in mind. These devices are only as good as the support the system gets from company and the community.

Did she discover the wonders of the voice search yet? Perhaps she might need some assistance exploring the Cool features. My wife is no techie by any means and she was hating it at first. But now I'm getting her the "Incredible" when it becomes available.

On a side note id the JIT compiler is delivered to the phones before the release of the iPhone 4G we're gonna have ourselves a fun situation.

When it came time for my wife to upgrade her phone, she hemmed and hawed around for a while, saying she was going to go from her enV2 to the enV3. Read some bad reviews of that phone and decided to go for a Droid (after telling me for months that she'd never do that). After one day she says she doesn't know how she ever lived without it!

I'm shocked but happy cuz now we're on the same page when it comes to finding more and more cool stuff with this phone.

So I guess I'm lucky - sort of. That's an extra $30/mo above and beyond MY $30/mo. I think when I retire we're going back to 'cans and string'...

Speaking of contacts:

To move them from my old phone, I saved them to a .vcf format with some app I cant remember right now. I put the .vcf files on my sdcard in a folder. Now thats how I back them up and restore them. The Droid imports/exports the .vcf files fast too.

Want to trade!

I have my curve to, it is in great shape, but the tour is better than the curve... u wanna trade me for the droid..
