Mysterious Device Now With November 23 Launch date

This is interesting. In the specs for the Droid 2 Global, it's showing the 1.2 GHz Processor. I didn't know it was going to be a faster processor than the regular Droid 2.

Yeah, noticed that as well. I heard a while back that the Global was going to have a 1.2 GHz processor compared the the current Droid 2 and Droid 2 R2D2's 1 GHz processor. You think they'd of at least tossed a 1.2 GHz in R2D2 for god's sake...lol

But as viper1549 pointed out above, the release date for the Droid 2 Global was tossed around a lot and now all of a sudden it's released 2 days earlier than anyone predicted AND silently. Crazy.

We all should take this as a sign of things to come. Verizon is getting sneaky, they've done a top notch job keeping the incHD hush hush thus far, Incredibly so you might say, i'm anxious to hear more from Miami on what the future holds for this device! (hopefully a very NEAR future!)

The main reason was that I was hoping that the HTC Merge (I guess some refer to as the Incredible HD), this mystery Evoish device for Verizon, would be coming out on the 23 or what not so I could get that instead, while using my Samsung i730 in the meantime.

The HTC Merge is a 3.8" touch screen phone with a full hardware keyboard (similar to the G2).

The HTC Droid Incredible HD is a 4.3" touch screen only phone.

And, I doubt the manager of Best Buy is getting legit information without seeing leaks all over the place. Not discrediting you...just don't believe him until proof says otherwise. Good luck with the DX though.

I went into Best Buy today because it was getting close to the 30 day period, and I have had reasons to return or replace my Droid X. One reason was that the buttons were weirdly designed, the first two buttons feel different from the second two, sometimes the last one doesn't always want to push in, as if it had something underneath it to prevent it from pushing in completely. Other reasons were that it would lag at times (after loading up many apps.. and having short cuts on the main 7 pages), weird incongruities with the browser, a few random reboots, and Verizon as usual screwed up my bill making it way more than it should be. The main reason was that I was hoping that the HTC Merge (I guess some refer to as the Incredible HD), this mystery Evoish device for Verizon, would be coming out on the 23 or what not so I could get that instead, while using my Samsung i730 in the meantime.

Ok so I talked to the manager at Best Buy about my Droid X and wanting to return it to possibly wait for the soon upcoming Evoish device, and he told me he was also waiting to get the "Merge", which is what he referred to it as, and he told me that while they were expecting to get news of it to come out in the next couple weeks and he was expecting to get an official meeting to get the run down on the phone, he was informed that they are now planning on pushing the launch to March of 2011, because they are wanting it to be 4G compliant. So while he said the date that was March of 2011.. in Verizon's timing from what I recall, that usually means about 3-4 months after that.. ie second quarter. What's that like 7-8 months out...?:/

Based on that I decided to just get a replacement Droid X, which has better functioning buttons as far as I can tell out of the 4 I tested and chose from. It also apparently came with Froyo so that was interesting. I would also like to add that this experience with the manager at Best Buy was WAY better than my other experience with the previous manager that was there before who seemed pretty stuck on an anti customer service mode. That guy made me want to never come back to Best Buy again. So while he couldn't help me with all my problems, he was polite, allowed me to get a replacement with no hassle, gave me some credits back to my account, and I could tell he tried to help me at least.

Anyways that's the update I received. Take it for what it's worth.

HDinc and merge are separate phones all together. It's not the same phone being called different names .. and I don't understand what you mean about 3-4 months after march

I am heard that the New Droid X SE (Silver Edition or Special Edition) is Rumored to have 1.2GHZ on it.

I'm beginning to believe we will see a silent release before we get anything out of Miami.

Looking like a gag order, not a DF exclusive.

Thought it would be fun to do this, and it could be informative also, because if not many people plan on buying the 3g version, there's a chance that not many custom rom/hacks developers would develop for it. 3g or LTE? - Cast Your Vote!

I live in Nashville, Tennessee (One of the first markets to get LTE) therefore, I voted LTE. However, I wish there had been a "Both" option in the poll, as I will most definitely get the 3G version when it comes out this month and then get the LTE version in March.

I have three phones on my account (me, my Wife, and Mother) and have two upgrades available right now. I've been waiting for an Evo clone for a long time and even considered switching to Sprint for it, but I just couldn't bring myself to give up the excellent coverage and customer service that I've had with Verizon over the past 10 years.

It's looking like I will buy this then when lte is released in my area I will buy an lte phone but as of now it's useless to me until I see lte around my house or job

Kind of funny isn't it.......all the iPhone boys are waiting for a white iPhone and Moto drops an all white Droid 2 Gloabal..........yep droid does that too...LOL :icon_ banana:

Ughhhhhh I really hope something comes out about the HD Inc. I have never held off upgrading for so long before. It is been about two months and every time I call Verizon to check on this phone they remind me.... You are eligible for an upgrade.....no we do not have any info on that phone, but we do have the Droid X and Samsung Fascinate. Now the Droid 2 running at 1.2 GHz is sitting there and Global and longer battery life..........
