Doesn't bode well for Motorola or VZW's holiday lineup. 76% want something else. One more reason to get DINC HD out before Christmas

Interesting question. I have noticed many phones now have an FM Radio...but I wonder how many use them. I have found that when I listen to music on my Storm it is either from Pandora or my music library. I hate commercials!

I have no idea why people want FM on their Droid. So much better stuff out there.

FM use to be good years ago but it's turned into a pile of horse manure.

shoot, i would love to listen to Kevin and Bean on KROQ but D1 wont let it happen.. lol.. im hoping for one.. even XM radio came out but from the looks of it someone said no Howard Stern so i would never go to XM on android if something so awesome was blocked (or whatever the reason may be that his station is not accessible)

i think he is referring to the general population that wouldnt check an android site in a million years.. thats where the numbers in sales come from, not all us tech nerds wanting to know the next phone coming out.

The general public are not android fanbois or even people that would bother reading forums like this. The general public are people who know nothing about the phones.....walk into a verizon store and believe whatever the salespeople tell them. To these "general public" these phones probably look like decent devices and might sell ok. Though I personally have a hard time believing they will sell that many of either device.

True, I forgot that there are the shock jocks people love on FM. I have XM and I don't listen to any of those type of shows.

Its not just that. I love my custom stations on Slacker and Pandora. But dj personality is definately missing. So, sometimes, I like ter radio. As much as I love the idea of what this DIHD might be, no FM radio might be a deal breaker.
Decision point will be different for everybody.

Okay, breaking my own rule here, off topic: I have listened to Kevin and Bean for 17 years and they aren't shock jocks. Not exactly for kids either. Howard Stern is a true "shock jock". And Viper, I get my K & B fix using Podcasts on Google Listen or downloading Wunderradio (or the many other streaming applications). (I don't live in LA anymore so I can't get them over the air.)


Back on Topic, I am sure the Droid Incredible HD would have the capabilities, but would they be unlocked? FM Radio is by no means a deal breaker to most. Heck, I'd make more use out of an AM tuner. Like Hookbill, I just don't see the point except maybe to save Data Charges and perhaps better reliability (no buffering on a tuner!).
