Ok that looks right but here's the kick, I don't think you can replace a boot animation with the same method as I showed you before. I think it has to be done in root explorer. Let me do some research.
No problem, detailed steps I can do. I'm looking to see if there's a free way to do this. I would hate for you to have to drop that kind of money on root explorer if this is the only thing you need it for.
Ok then what you are going to do is take that bootanimation.zip file and paste it in to system/media and it will replace the one there. If that doesn't make sense I can try and explain a little more thouroghly but I don't own root explorer.
Ok so like I said I don't own it so i'll explain as best as I can just based on what I imagine it looks like and how I assume it works. Its basically a file manager so somewhere there should be an option to like go "up a level" or "back a level" or something like that. Anyway if you go up as far as possible you will see a folder called system, and in that folder will be a folder called media. Open the system/media folder and inside you should see (if I rremember correctly) one random folder and a file named bootanimation.zip
If you paste the file from the droid life post in to the system/media folder it should either automatically replace the old one or say something like "a file by that name already exists. Would you like to replace it?" Replace the old file with the stock one and that should be all you have to do.
