Whichever one your system requires -- 32bit or 64bit.
As for the second, you select the files that came from the .zip, right click, and then make a new archive. Name it update.zip and hopefully we can proceed at this point.

how do i check which one my computer needs?

Right click on My Computer and select Properties. It should tell you whether it's 32 or 64 bit Vista.

k i just had to make sure that i was right about it being 32 bitalritey so i installed the program you told me to put so where do i go from here?

Zip up the Motocache files and transfer or try superoneclick and follow some directions I can give you to get it all done from your phone after SOC roots it so that you get a custom recovery image.

It freezes on mount path. Is unknown source installation and USB Debugging turned on?

Someone says that having the phone tethered via PDA Net helps, but I do NOT see how.
So, back to the RSD Lite method.
Download Moto's update.zip file on the phone. Do you have the SBF file on the PC already?

Don't. Do you have the sbf on the PC? If not, put it on the PC. Now, using the phone, download the update.zip from the thread. http://bit.ly/MC1_CR_11
