need help updating my OS on an original Droid

does this take a really long time? I have this message "backing up: apps organizer 1.4.5" and it is only 7% done and it has been sitting on the 7% for quite some time. Should I leave it alone or should I reboot it and try from the beginning to download the free version? So sorry, I am such a Newbie :)

Go to settings>applications>manage applications and see if titanium backup is listed. If so, uninstall, reboot and try to reinstall from market.

Hey, didn't you use Titanium to backup your apps prior to wiping and installing a ROM. Now you use Titanium to restore what you backed up. You don't need to do another backup, just restore. After restoring, you do an update. The update process should start automatically.

yes, it was there. I have uninstalled it and am rebooting and will try a reinstall....

OK>>> Here is my error message. I got this after I uninstalled titanium then reinstalled the free version first then the paid for version. Both show up as installed in the market and the icon shows up in my app folder. My error message is: Sorry, I could not acquire root privileges. This application will not work? please verify that your ROM is rooted and includes Busy Box, and try again. I do not have busy box on my phone... only super user. should I down load busy box?

Also, I checked my list... I used to have bugless Beast, Busy Box, Easy root, spare parts and superuser

Go to the super user app and open it and see if titanium backup is listed.

Try to open titanium backup again and wait a few seconds and see if a message pops up asking you for super user privileges or something similar. If so, touch allow.

nope, didnt work. It is acting like I am no longer rooted (I think), so maybe when I updated gingerbread I didnt stay rooted???

Ok, do you have an app called terminal emulator installed?

Download that from market and install. Then open app and type "su" and hit enter. Then report back what happens.

There is an app in the market BusyBox Installer by jRummy. It will do the install for you.

OK, Downloaded BusyBox (went fine) and then downloaded terminal emulator then entered SU... I got an error message in Titanium that I wasnt rooted...so I turned off the phone, then turned it back on... I am not in Titanium but the aps have not reloaded on my phone. How do I make that happen??
