Need help with swype

I just got swype and i needed a littiel help. everytime i try to type a word it wont show up and the phone beeps as well as the text field will flash a blue color. Do i need to do domething before it will work of is it just me?

uninstall, remove the old one and all traces of it, then reinstall/ happened to me too

how exactly to do ununstall something that isnt in your app list.......still really really new at this
