I received a Droid RAZR as a prize from a contest a while ago. It came already rooted, something which I did not even realize for a long time (I have no experience in this stuff). I need to unroot this so that I can finally get ICS on it and clear up some issues I have with the phone dropping data connection randomly and frequently.
The phone is on system version 6.11.77.XT912, running Android 2.3.5. I cannot figure out how to do anything to this without bricking it, I keep coming across contradictory statements. I have no idea how it was originally rooted, so that restricts me from trying some options I have found... My brother told me I should just be able to use this 12/24/12 Update x912 - xda-developers on my phone and it would unroot it and install ICS, but now I'm not so sure on that either.
Any assistance on this would be greatly appreciated, as I have gone back and forth on trying to figure it out myself and have never tried anything yet for fear of ruining the phone completely. Thanks for helping a poor inexperienced lost soul on the forum
