Needing Tips for DroidMaxx

I just got this yesterday & any tip would help.i had the og RAZR but of course it has some different options in settings etc...Smart actions not compatible (jb iam guessing)..str8 to the point:i set it to cdma/lte,screen brightness @ 15%,not so many apps..When charging the maxx it gets hot,even to the charger alone would b on fire(as in: i ain't gonna touch it 4 too long) fyi,i use a extended cord w/ it.any ideas why?what am i missing here?

Btw.how bout the flash deal?i know its not supported w jb so iam wondering what yall do to have it work.
