It's all good. We've waited so long for Netflix already. We can wait a little more. Thanks liberty team!

For anyone who is getting the "Device not supported" message, you can try the following:

      1. Root is required. Make a Nandroid backup! (I accidentally deleted by build.prop file and bootlooped my phone)
      2. Download ES File Explorer (Or any other root file editor)
      3. In ES File Explorer, go into Setting > Root Settings and enable both check boxes
      4. Navigate to /system/ and copy/paste build.prop to /sdcard/ (just in case)
      5. Open & edit /system/build.prop
      6. Change the following lines to make your phone think it is a HTC G2:
        1. ro.product.model=HTC Vision
        2. ro.product.manufacturer=HTC
      7. Reboot the phone
      8. Install the netflix apk (if you haven’t already)
      9. Enjoy

It sounds like it might not work for everyone, but it is working for some.

Wonder if this will spur them to find a way to re-add blur for Netflix + HDMI?

I changed

model to: Nexus S
manufacturer: samsung

I believe it's case-sensitive and it's AWESOME!

One problem, after doing this I lost swype. Anyone else have this problem?

It appears it's because the built-in swype thinks it's no longer a DROIDX.

It'd be awesome to have both! Any ideas?

This works!

Thanks so muchhhh!!

I changed it to HTC Vision and HTC, but that didn't bring Swype back either. I believe the G2 comes with Swype which is why i was hoping.

It seemed like the Nexus S setup had better video quality, but i don't think there is a logical reason for that so it might just be a connection thing.

This did work for me also great work almost makes me think you could do this with any device that is rooted

It didn't work at first then I did that switch in the build. Then switched it back doing proper methods. Now it works every time great. Rocko's Modern Life

Jrummy posted a flashable zip in his twitter feed last night, which is working great for me. I unistalled Netflix, flashed the zip, and then reinstalled Netflix. You probably don't need to uninstall first, but I figured I would share my approach. I'm streaming now without any build.prop edits so other functions are not broken. (at least I haven't found any yet)

Yes, reverted back to original build.prop file. Swype is back, Netflix is broken.

Flashed netflix.zip (did not uninstall Netflix app, did not change zip name)... Swype still works and so does Netflix! Awesome!

Surprisingly, I won't be going back to Swype because I'm loving the FlexT9 keyboard that's free from Amazon today!
