New Apps from 2.1

I am pretty sure you have to have the "News and Weather" app/widget from 2.1 (geniewidget.apk) installed before it will show weather on the Desk Clock. BUT for some reason it only shows in Celsius, but when you tap the icon it brings up the new Weather app from the new and Weather widget/app.

Mine is and so are others, haven't seen the solution yet.. BUT I can live with that for now until the offical 2.1 release.

Having a decent looking and real dimmable Dock clock is well worth that minor glitch.

To remove the old gallery, (busybox required):
Code:
adb shell
$ su
# mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system
# /path/to/busybox mv /system/app/Gallery.apk /system/app/Gallery.bak
# sync
# exit
$ exit

Any other easier way?

LEAKED: 2.1 Gallery...

I don't know if this has been posted before but here is the leak of the 2.1 gallery... Huge difference!!!

Instructions:

1. Download the apk file from Gallery.apk.zip

2. unzip the file on your computer

3. copy the apk file from that to your memory card

4. open Astro and locate the new apk file, click it and open in app manager, click install upper left corner

ENJOY! Takes about 10-15 seconds...


You can also do it all directly from your phone, which is probably easier.

A mod actually created a thread about this earlier. The clock from 2.1 was also pulled and is now available. There is a direct link to download both of these apps directly from your phone in the thread as well:

This is awesome!!! 2.1 was a little buggy for me so I went back to 2.0.1, man I was missing the Gallery though!!! Now I feel like I can wait for 2.1 official...
