Apple updated their unicode with new emoji about a month ago. Android enthusiasts have cried about this enough that Google has decided to update emoji starting with Nexus devices starting next week. Hiroshi Lockheimer tweeted an example of some of the new emoji. The new emoji include food items, and animals, as well as a few new hand gestures. While this update will be available for Nexus device soon keep in mind that OEMs will add their own variants of the emoji and may update them much later.
