New ICS Leak for Bionic

Which fxz did you use to get from 2231 ics leak to 902?
it's been on my comp. long time ago.. goodluck buddy!!!....newvrz_xt875_5.9.902.xt875.verizon.en.us_cfc_01.xml.zip - *********** - online file sharing and storage - download

trying to find out what people are using to root the ICS leak (either build) since it appears that having root will cause the OTA and the leak to fail. I installed Voodoo root keeper but havent done anything with it yet. what's the best way to do this? I have been thinking that FXZ to 902, root, use Voodoo to save and then temp unroot and proceed with the OTA and leak but I seem to be reading a lot of different opinions on this so any help is greatly appreciated here.

Cheers

Not true. I had root and updated. It's not root that's causing the issues. Forever root will cause an issue, but, plenty of people had root and restored it with Voodoo. SuperSU restored it for me after I did the update, but, I was rooted before hand. Anyway, there's a new root method for ICS:

So if you didn't root before, you can root after and you're golden.

So far it's working well for me. The only glitch I've found so far is the inability to switch to 3G only. My phone is locked in on LTE. Anybody experienced this too?

I used razrs edge windows to root...google search it. And if you run into a error with drivers, search motohelper_2.1.40_driver_5.5.0.exe. All worked for me with no problems.

i did not root my phone since 902 to 905 update...jaz now w/ 2233...demmm,seems like i have had a new phone to play w/....

It really does seem like a new phone. I mean, technically, our phone is on par with the RAZR now since the CPU is clocked higher. And now that the software is unified across D4, Bionic, and RAZR, the experience is the same, as well. And that means that updates should be pretty quick across all the phones. Brilliant move by Moto.

Droid Hive mentioned using the Thunderbolt app in the market. I recommended it to someone on XDA and it worked for them. Try it out.

SetCPU can show it to you. People have reported it going to 1.2 now with the ICS builds. It was underclocked at 1 in the GB builds.

where do you see the CPU clock?

Rom toolbox will show you what your cpu is and allow you to change it as well.

Thanks for the information, I looked at the bat file and this looks a lot like moto-fail (actually I think its the same person).

It might be from the same person. But it's definitely a new method for rooting these Moto ICS builds. Seems to work for most people.
