I have heard rumors that a new Nexus may appear in Q4 of this year, we'll have to wait and see though. Another rumor is that Asus may be making it, but who knows.

Haven't hear the Asus rumor. But TBH I dunno if I would trust an Asus phone. They are too new to that market. They do a great job with tablets. Just dunno if I would trust them as a phone manufacturer.
New Nexus phones usually come out along with a really new version of Android. I don't think Google will do a new phone with K yet. A lot of app devs are still scrambling to get stuff working properly with ICS. They may need a breather!

Yeah you're right they do great work with their tablets. So naturally I think their next step would be phones, I mean all they gotta do is pretty much make a smaller tablet with a phone radio Their hardware is top notch imo.

Thanks, those are the same rumors that I have heard. I hope that in the comings month we hear something positive from both sides. At the moment I'm looking at the Droid Razr Maxx HD cause it has most of the stuff I need. I just would like to have and opened phone without carrier provider.(VZ,ATT,sprint, ect, ect )
If Verizon were to get the next generation of Nexus (whenever it comes around), I hope they do a 1000% better job supporting it and treating it like a Nexus is supposed to be treated. If they're not going to update it in a timely manner, then they should give the user the ability to root and customize without any backlash. And truly allow for the pure Android experience.

If it's not a "Droid Nexus" then I doubt they will support it any better. Verizon first bragged about having the Nexus first and then pretty much dropped it. That made me lose all faith in Verizon's support.

Speaking as someone who has had 5 replacement galaxy nexus phones, I personally can't see how Asus could have a worse offering hardware wise. It seems the generally consensus is that Samsung radios general suck, which is the single greatest hindrance to any phone IMO.
