New OS update for Pro?

If your phone is working well, I would HOLD OFF on this update.

My Pro has been awesome since day 1 (about a month now), battery, stability, everything. . .

I updated yesterday and here's what I've found:

Pros:
- I think voice quality is better, emphasis on think, it was OK before

CONS:
- Phone rebooted on its own this morning ARGHHH. I never had this before the update . . . .
- It appears to chew up battery. I'm not sure about this one as my youngest was on Angry Birds Seasons a lot yesterday, will verify today

How do I find out when there is a new OS update to download / update on my phone? Just wondered if - when it is available - an OS update will help to eventually iron out some of the frustrating kinks and improve battery life and other functions.

An update to the factory release OS is available for the phone. It is suppose to improve corporate email sync, voice reception, bluetooth firmware and some other minor bugs. I don't think (from what I've read) that it improved sync email.

I downloaded and installed yesterday morning. I have not experienced any decrease in battery life (I have the extended battery), no reboots or any other abnormal behavior from the phone. If you want the update go to
menu>settings>about phone>updates. The download takes about 15 minutes and the install takes about 10.

OH by the way...if you are rooted you may have significant problems getting the update to install...most like will...particularly if you deleted some of the apps that came on the phone. And, if you don't have the extended battery...GET ONE.

I installed the update a couple of days ago and haven't had any issues. Before the update i could not, for the life of me, pair my Pro with the Bluetooth in my car. I specifically updated because I saw that the firmware was updated. Afterwards, the Pro paired up with the car immediately. Saved me from ripping ALL of my hair out!

Does anybody know if this update has finished rolling out yet? I am still getting the message "check for update was not available at this time" when I go to system updates on my phone. Any way to manually get it?

Quick update on my previous post:
- battery life is still good, the update has not had any detrimental impact on battery life
- have not had any random reboots since initial one

Has anybody who has rooted been able to get this to install?

I can't tell if the issues some people are reporting is a result of being rooted, or a result of having deleted applications or done other things to the phone once rooted...

Was rooted and updated with no major issues at the time (had to reroot after) although the phone seems be prone to rebooting now. Still trying to isolate the cause(s). I'm not 100% confident the reboots weren't happening prior to the update - I've only had phone for about a week.

Am I the only one that has still not gotten the update? I have never rooted or removed anything from my phone.

Strange that a non-rooted phone isn't seeing the update...you are in U.S.?

My only suggestion would be to do a battery pull first, then go back to Settings>About Phone>Check for Updates again...

Try check for update with wifi, without, etc....not sure what else to do ...good luck..

Thanks for the reply. I am actually not in the U.S now, but I understood from other users that they were able to update overseas. Do you know otherwise? I just wish there was some link I could just click on and update.
