New Phone

Wow I really cant believe that there are still people out there complaining about the data issue when the fix has been out there for 2-3 weeks now!!! Like I've said in a few other threads, if you have the issues and have not applied the updates that are available, then either do it or stop complaining.
Got to love this quote as it holds no real truth, just because it worked for you does not mean it's going to work for everyone else, I applied the update thinking things would improve but they went way downhill as did the battery life - I have an extended that ends up on 17% after 8hours off of the charger and my 4 data drops has doubled to at least 8 a day, now if I can't come to a Droid Forum and express my concerns about an issue I am currently having or an anticipated one I feel is going to be evident in my daily life as a direct result of my android phone then where else shall I go ???

You have to think about the bigger picture and take more than yourself into consideration - yeah I am not complaining about it, but it is a problem, this is a forum, and the more people talk the more likely something will be done about it :wink-b:

1. Which .893 version are you on?
2. Have you pulled the SIM card and reseated it firmly?

What he said!

Have you guys reseated your Sim cards? I know that's helped alot if people that were continuing to have problems after flashing the patches.

As far as your battery goes, did you wipe the battery stats and calibrate like you should have? how many days have you been running the update? sometimes it can take 2-3 full battery cycles before the system can read the battery completely accurate

I've had 4 different Bionics and literally 8 different SIM cards b/c I kept reactivating my Inc2 when I had data problems, then wanting to reactivate the Bionic to try something new again. I rooted, updated with leaks, etc. Some days I thought it was better, then the next day it would suck again.

I'm not saying 893 doesn't help, but it's not helping everyone. There's not a single solution that fixes 100% of the problems yet. The network is part of the problem as well.

For what it's worth, has anybody tried getting into the modem settings and changing the phone over to evdo from eHRPD? That, theoretically, should fix it if possible on the Bionic... assuming eHRPD is the problem, which I'm convinced that's the bulk of the problem on most of the 4G Verizon phones...

Wow...Every thread I read has dlo running his mouth. If he's that unhappy with the Bionic, why in the hell is he on the Bionic forum? I LOVE my Bionic. It could use a snappier camera, but other than that, it's the best phone I've owned. And I've owned a lot. Phones are like everything else when it comes to technology. You get good ones, and you get not so good ones. I happen to get a good one. Dlo, you are not informing people with the correct information. The people with problematic Bionics are the minority. Fact!

I'll run my mouth, you betcha!

You all make me laugh at how hard you're defending this phone.... saying we should be happy to have it because other phones have more problems too, and that unless anyone has tried all the patches out there, tried rooting their phone and installed custom kernels and ROM's, then they have no right to complain that the phone doesn't work like it should.

I LOL at this retarded reasoning! Especially because I know that even if you haven't had the data drop out problem yet, you will. It's just a matter of time. Those of you that claim otherwise just won't admit it. Fanboi style.

You have no clue what y'all are talking about when you say "fact". LOL. You're stats are the number of posts on Droidforums, for cryin' out loud!! That one made me LOL the hardest!

Opinions, opinions. I love my Bionic, I waited for it forever and it is working for me fine. The quirks I can deal with, such as the data dropout and screen lockdown every once in a while. I can deal with this, but others can't. So be it. Some are bound to get extremely irritated by these issues and others like the diagonal pixels. dlo, I'm sorry it is working so piss poor for you and I hope the update rolls out soon and helps the situation. Everyone else, continue to be happy it works enough to your satisfaction.
Piss in your own urinals, quit getting it everywhere.

The answer is 42.
Oh, wait, you mean to tell me you need to know the question now?
Well, I can't answer that.

The question is...

What is the answer to Life, The Universe and Everything?

Thank you Douglas Adams for filling my teenage years with such phenomenal writings.

I have to ask...

Those of you that are so offended that I'm speaking out about the data dropout problem with the Bionic... just why do you care if I'm saying it's a real problem and yours seems to be working? How does it affect you?

I'd really like to know why you feel it's your duty to claim the data dropout is not really a problem. This oughta be great!!

What is the answer to the Ultimate question of Life, the Universe, and Everything.
Answer being 42, they realized that they did not actually know the question. Deep thought then designed the computer that could find this out, and thus the mice financed the construction of Earth.
Arthur Dent stumbled on the question when he went back to prehistoric Earth and was trying to teach primitive apes to play Scrabble, which turned out to be "What is six times nine?"
The rest of the universe may never know the question or why it's answer is 42, but nobody really cares anymore anyway.

Wow... link doesn't work. FAIL.

Something else for me to laugh about.

It worked for me, btw, this thread is starting to go the wrong way. Let's make sure we stay on topic and keep it respectful. Thanks:)

I have to agree with rck76 stay on topic. The bionic is a excellent device that will be even better when moto and verizon fix there problems. My bionic is a very good device. I have some data issues but i also live in out in the sticks surrounded by 35 acres of corn field. The razor battery not being removable is a deal breaker for me. I have applied the leaked update and it has helped when data is lost i can usually get my data back in a couple of minutes without doing any battery pull or airplane mode cycling. Like i said earlier the battery needs to be removable.

I can't speak for everyone on this, but I for one am NOT offended when people such as yourself talk about the data issues. As you stated earlier the OP is asking about the phone specs and everyone's opinion about each. And as you said, "should I keep it secret" that my DB has not had any data issues? I think people are just trying to keep it fair in the argument of data problems, some people have those issues and some haven't. It is obviously not a problem affecting ALL DB's because this one hasn't had it!

As for being a "fanboi," how is it the case when we are just letting people know about our own experience with our own phone. If in all honesty I had all of the issues that everyone has been having I would buy a different phone off contract or whatever I needed to do to have one that works.

I get people are angry and justified in being so when they buy an expensive phone that doesn't work right, but not everyone is as angry as others are and just want people who ask for others opinions to know that not all DB's are jacked.
