New, safe Samsung Galaxy Note 7 units will feature green battery indicators!

Yeah, just read that.

A person familiar with the matter told Reuters the phone was damaged by an external heat source, possibly an induction oven or a fan heater. The person was not authorized to speak publicly on the matter and so declined to be identified."

I woke up to an alert for a system update from Samsung this morning. Talked about if it after the update you're battery was green than you had a safe device. I delayed it until later.

I still have my original Note 7. I have it on mine also. I am not going to do the update. Turning mine in Tomorrow.

@jstafford1 and I did the update.... of course our battery icons are still white and now there is a pop up each time we plug in the charger to stop using and power off the device[emoji52][emoji52]... We are planning on exchanging ours Saturday.

I was just reading on Android Authority (I think that's where I was reading) this morning that Samsung actually had to get special permission from Google to use the green battery icon. According to Google's guidelines for being able to use Gapps and etc, all status bar icons MUST be white.

What I'm interested in is, will they change it back to white down the road? Or will the Note 7 always have a green battery icon, if it's a safe one? Could be a collector's item some day. Haha! (Probably not though)
