I'm trying to decide between the Motorola X and the HTC Thunderbolt. I'm new to smart phones, so either one is going to be a huge change.
My biggest considerations here are a phone with very good reception, fairly intuitive to use, a good {not just decent} camera including video, good & loud sound {mostly for music}, mobile hot-spot capable, and is fairly rugged.
4G capable is certainly enticing but as we do not have 4G in the area and won't for at least a year, it isn't a high priority really.
I compared the X to the TB today at the store. I was impressed with both but here are some pros & cons I noticed:
The TB seemed to process faster, might have been faster on streaming, the camera was definitely faster, and it's a sleeker design. The skin looks nice but seemed cheap/plastic, and I found the touch buttons at the bottom/side are easy to accidentally activate when holding during normal use. I also read a tech review which pointed out the TB doesn't take pictures very well in low light conditions.
The X seemed very close in most regards, the video seemed like it might be sharper, speakers louder, and though not as sleek because of sharper edges, it felt more solid. The buttons are also better located.
I'd like to get some advice from those who have used both the X and now the TB.
