I don't think there's going to be a mad rush to get the Ipad2 on Friday. Sure your die-hard Ipad crazys (i don't know any) with lots of money will be there, but I think it's a non-event. I just don't see Apple being the reason if the TB doesn't come out next week.
Were you told by your carpool guy that it will be "in the verizon store in April", or was this by a Verizon store employee?

I don't know if it means anything, but there was 8 employee cars in my local Verizon store at 7 in the morning. There is usually only 1 TB meeting maybe?
Theres a solid chance though the carpool guy knows more than the VZW store employee
While I think iPhone madness may be playing a part in the delay of the Bolt, I have to disagree with respect to accessories. To carry cases for every iPhone and iPad ever made, you need to cover 5 form factors. 4 if you count the original iPhone as EOL. To carry accessories for every Android device, you would literally need a small store or section JUST for that. When you look at it that way, it makes sense.
Well than it would be odd to update the website with Ipad2 release date today and not update it for a product that would come the day before

Don't listen to anyone at the Verizon Store or Best Buy. They don't know!!!
I stop by my local VZW store about every two weeks to just see what's new and I see the manager every time. I say "Thunderbolt?" He says "No release date". I say "any idea when?". He says "before the end of the month". Funny thing is he said this in early February and again yesterday. He doesn't have a clue and I didn't expect him to. I was just making conversation.
lol. Seriously though, if I'm not mistaken Preach2K has a source, that he carpools with, and he has given us solid info in the past (i.e. DINC HD/MECHA/SCORPION/THUNDERBOLT/WHATEVER).
I was told (I cant qualify the source..maybe good, maybe bad) that the delay was initially due to a technical issue but it is now much more political between HTC and Verizon. The situation is very tense. It kind of explains why HTC went on their own and produced ads for the TB. He also mentioned VZ alinement's with MOT. So he was saying some of the pressure was NOT coming from Apple, and may actually be coming from MOT. Again..who knows.
I can see where HTC would be pissed about this whole launch. They are getting squeezed into this window, on one side by iPhone and on the other side by the Bionic, and it's rapidly closing. Of course, if it's a technical issue with the phone, they only have themselves to blame, I suppose. Who knows?
Again..take it with a grain of salt but...
He said there was a disagreement between HTC and VZ on the validity, and the blame (VZ said it was HTC, and HTC said it was VZ) of the technical issue.

Look, here's what we know:
-The phone is ready and has been for awhile now
-Ads are out for it
-HTC is pissed and putting pressure on VZW to announce a date this week
-People have received demos already
-No matter how absolutely ****ing stupid verizon is, they will definitely not let HTC pull the TB because its their first 4G phone

This is my last statement I'm going to make on this phone. First, I apologize for being wrong about the announcement. Right up until 6:00 pm Eastern Time I was told that announcement was going to happen.
I'm still hearing things but now I don't feel that there is anything definite coming out. I lack confidence in what I am hearing and it's not necessarily the source, it's what the exact words are. I don't know if any of you saw that Facebook posting last night but it's very similar to that. The Facebook post, and I'm paraphrasing said that the rumored date of 3/10 may be delayed. However in the same posting it said that they were confident it will be available by 3/10.
That's what I'm hearing now too. So rather then pass along something that is wishy washy like that, I'm going to just keep out of it. Sorry if that disappoints some of you but I gave it my best shot.
