Nexus One Gets Multi-touch Update...Droid Next?

Great news for Android. Please tell me this is coming to Droid, along with 2.1.

I'm going to ask a total noob question. How will multitouch benefit us Droid owners. Maybe I'm simply not understanding what multitouch does for us with our phones. Can someone explain?

Just a nicer, some say easier, way to zoom in and out. You can control how much and how little zooming takes place. There is no benefit per say.

In the Browser, Maps and Gallery it allows you to pinch & zoom like on the iPhone.
