Haven't seen a post on this.......and I haven't tried this at night yet to see if it works very well... but...
Lots of times I just have maps on (no not navigator) while driving and let it track me as I drive so that I can see traffic issues and road construction, however there is no real night mode for maps like there is navigator (that i know of).
Justa bit ago I was playing around and saw a new item in the menu -> more -> labs section. At the bottom there is now a "dark map for BUZZ" selection. This darkens the map a (maybe too much) and puts buzzes as red dots. If you live in an area without 2000 buzzes per square inch then it may work out.
