nightly 0.4 live now

So I was running Liberty 2.0.1. I decided to download the donate toolbox, then downloaded the nightlies v.4 full version (which specifically stated it was for those coming from froyo roms). I backed up the previous rom, then proceeded with the install. Everything looks like it worked fine until...

I am now stuck at what I presume is the boot animation. It's been sitting there for a good half hour at least. I know jrummy says "First boot will take some time, so be patient. You aren't boot looping." but this is ridiculous.

I guess I'll just battery-pull and see what happens?

Did you wipe data prior to flashing the full install?

Yes, I did select the option to wipe data prior to the install.

I did the battery pull. Tried turning it back on, and it's still just sitting at the boot screen. My phone is useless right now. Any help to at least get back to my starting point would be appreciated.

Oh shoot so it was only 0.3 that was the non full.. Well try going to 0.4 full liberty Gingerbread with a wipe cahce/format

At this point, you may have to sbf and start over.

That's where I started, with the full v.4 version. I can do nothing at the moment because it's just sitting at the boot animation.

Does the Liberty logo go away? Mine does and then it's just a blank screen that's on. I select wipe date but it never boot into recovery.

Up and running on point 4. Loving it so far! Noticing a couple bugs that are minor, I'll save those for a bugs thread! VIVA LIBERTY!

Same thing here. I SBF'd back to stock, rooted, and tried it again and got stuck at boot logo a second time. Going back to Lib 2 for now.

If I have to SBF, I'm just going back to stock Froyo. Liberty was a bit of a headache on 1.5 with it's random reboots and lockscreen problems. They got worse with 2.0.1. I thought the situation might improve with the GB build, but this is ridiculous. I know my 5 bucks is already down the drain, but I'm not going to support software that simply doesn't work.

SBFing is not something I wanted to deal with tonight. I don't really have the time for it at the moment. I followed the instructions explicitly, and all I get is a frozen boot animation. It was a risk I was willing to take, and it bit me. I am probably done with the Liberty rom.

That's pretty unfortunate. To be fair, I had lots of reboot issues with 1.5, marginally less with 2.0.1 - and now with LGB, my girlfriend has reported no reboots (she's using the device fulltime now).

So, yes - while you are having issues presently, it doesn't mean the 'software doesn't work' as plenty of people are able to flash and continue.

I've got a suggestion if you are willing to look into other options. After sbf-ing back to .340, go and do the 3 zip method over at MyDroidWorld to get your device onto GB. If that is successful, then you can move on to flashing the 0.4 zip (the non-full version).

The speed improvements on the Gingerbread leak are reason enough to at least use the stock version of it.

1. From rom manager in toolbox selected v.4
2. After downloaded prompt selected install then yes to data/cache wipe
3. <5 Min start to finish running on .4 without issue.

Your problems are not indicative of the masses. It happens sometimes whether its a bad download or something else corrupted along the way but I assure you the rom works.

Theres a customize option once you boot up. You can practically customize your own ROM the way you like it! its legit!

I didn't get this option because it froze on first boot but how do i get it. I just pulled the battery and it work but i am just wondering how i am able to customize it.

To the people having issues with the file are you downloading over wifi? And does the rom manager state the file size/md5 info?

Running it fine so far. I've had the gf running GB since Liberty Donate launched it, no problems what so ever with any of them besides the obvious reported bugs. Just can't wait for themes, the yellow isn't for us.. Weird choice for a stock theme I've always thought but what ever lol, small price to pay for such awesome software!
