No Flash for IPHONE or IPAD!!!

If the Android tablets are anything like the ones I have owned for over a year, it won't make anything crumble...they are garbage.

What sites are you guys missing with Flash that's so important? To me it used to be sports websites and news websites. So I no longer have to worry about that.

Hulu? There are netflix apps. And if you're talking for your phone, the Droid won't even barely last through a movie playing on Hulu with WiFi on anyhow.

Any site with Flash. That's the point. Where Apple has a few sites using HTML5 and their users are forced to go to those for the "full" browsing experience. On Android it won't matter. That and the fact that with Adobe AIR and CS5 being released it will be VERY easy to bring quality apps to Android in minimal time.

As for Android tablets. There are ALOT of them being released this year. A few of them deserve some serious attention. The Gemini, Notion Ink Adam and the 4 new Dells being released. Again. More choice, more form factors and more freedom. Add Flash support and now with more cowbell too!

I'll believe it when I see it. Every phone that comes out is supposed to be an iPhone killer, and nothing that has come out thus far has come even close. I'm sure it will be the same with the tablets.

If it wasn't for the iProducts that you hate so much you wouldn't even have half the things on the Droid or even tablets coming out that you do now.

Ummm... hmm... Let's see. IBM, Lenovo, HP and many others had convertible tablet PCs for a LONG time now. For whatever reason when it's Apple it's MAGICAL. As for the iPhone it has brought ABSOLUTELY nothing other than an awareness to the masses that smartphones exist. Hell Symbian and WinMo have been doing more than the iPhone has for YEARS before it existed. Again it's the whole advertising to the morons that like sparkly, magical things that have colorful pretty icons. Now excuse me while I go fry some eggs on my Core i7 Macbook Pro. :icon_ banana:

And they've done such a good job with the products that they have sold millions...err...wait...

Well seeing that Nokia is THE LARGEST producer of mobile devices in the world, yeah they sold far more than Apple could ever hope to in the next decade. As for WinMo it was doing quite well. The convertible tablet PCs had some pretty good sales overall but the price is what killed them.

EDIT: Since you got me on this subject let's elaborate a little more on Apple's ingenuity and innovation shall we?

1. Touch screen smart phone? No. IBM was first with the IBM Simon in 1993
2. Operating System with a GUI? Nope. Both Apple AND Microsoft got that from Xerox PARC
3. Mouse? Again.. Xerox PARC

Let's not forget about Steve Jobs' flip flopping and double speak as well.

1. DRM good, then bad... now good again
2. All application will be web based because local apps are bad... releases app store AFTER Cydia's popularity grew with the jailbroken crowd.
3. Open Source is just bad... He then builds Mac OSX off of the BSD kernel.

You catching a trend here? Apple like Microsoft are no different. They are both the kings of copying and have about as much innovation left them as a rock. Both now choose to litigate instead of innovate in order to maintain market dominance.

When did i ever once argue that they were the first people to make a product? You're arguing with yourself on this one.

I haven't liked Apple products since I first tried an Apple IIe many moons ago. I have never seen any reason to buy anything from that company.

Knock Windows if you want...I still like it better than the MacOS. (I have used the MacOS) I'll give Apple props when it comes to making slick looking devices that everyone wants, but, I still don't like their stuff. I tried an iPhone and decided to wait until something better came out. The iPad? No use for it. Heck, I would have no use for an Android based slate either. I have my Droid for everything it can do, my laptop for my stuff, and a PC for the kids and for gaming... really don't see how an iPad type device fits in to the scheme of things. But then, that's just me.

What can the Droid do while not plugged in and for how long?

That all depends now doesn't it? Droid + extended battery = quite a lot

Watch a couple of movies, browse the web, message and email. Play a few games and make some phone calls while your at it.

Who the **** wants a "slim" smartphone with that giant battery that doesn't keep an accurate count of the charge?

No ****ing way you are watching a "couple" of movies unless that's all you're doing. I could watch one move and be down to 60% easily with the regular battery, 20+% with two movies. So even if you have the extended battery, it works perfect, and you watch on that tiny screen, maybe you're at best 60% after the movies without doing another damn thing.

Well I'm assuming you are comparing the "what can you do" to an iPad seeing that on the iPhone the answer would be the same as a Droid. Now with that being said your comment of

"Who the **** wants a "slim" smartphone with that giant battery that doesn't keep an accurate count of the charge?"

is null and moot. Seeing that a slim smartphone with a giant battery is infinitely more portable than a 10" device like the iPad. All the while knowing that the iPad CANNOT make phone calls makes the "slim" smartphone with an extended battery that much more useful. If you present the argument that you can carry a slim smartphone w/out an extended battery AND an iPad then I say Netbook + Slim smartphone with extended battery + tether = more of a win in both form AND function. The netbook can also be used to supplement the battery life of the phone through USB charging. This CANNOT be said of the iPad.

Don't forget you can get a netbook and Droid together for cheaper than an iPad and not worry about paying an extra bill for the 3G on the iPad.
