noob with Droid 2 root problem

Hey guys. I'v had a droid 2 since September 2010. I rooted it the first time with no problems. Well i broke it and got a new one. When i tried to re root I could not copy rageagainstthecage-arm5.bin to my SD card. I'm not sure why the file wasn't there to begin with because I put the same SD card into the new phone. So anyway I re-downloaded droid2root.rar to my laptop, and when i extracted it, the rage file wasn't in the folder.

So to sum it up, When I'm in the command prompt and I try to push "rageagainstthecage-arm5.bin" to my SD card, I get an error saying that the file doesn't exist. I'm not real technical with this stuff, I just followed the instructions when I rooted the first time. Any help would be great. Thanks

wow what an easy way to root!

Downloaded z4root.1.1.0.apk to my laptop. (easily found on google)
Downloaded Astro file manager to my droid2 from the market
Connetcted my droid2 to the my laptop and copied the z4root file to my "download" folder. But any folder will do. (make sure your phone is set to mass storage mode)
Disconnected my droid from my laptop
On my droid2, went to Applications and checked The "unknown Reasources" box
Then while in applications, went to development and checked "USB Debugging"
Then open Astro file manager and scrolled to my download folder
Clicked the z4root file and and clicked "open app manager"
clicked "install"and the next screen clicked "install" again.
When install was complete, I clicked "open"
the blue screen popped up and I clicked the "ROOT" button.
My phone rebooted and...
Finished!! Root access!!

I read that this proccess works on most phones. Also some people were getting stuck on the blue screen and/or freezing up after hitting the root button, or waiting up to an hour to reboot.

I waited about 5 minutes before deciding to pull the battery. When i rebooted I went into airplane mode and went back to the z4root file clicked "launch". 15 seconds later my phone rebooted and I was rooted.

Hope this helped someone.
