Not receiving texts while gaming

While playing games such as Angry Birds and Gem Miner, both downloaded from Amazon apps, I am not receiving text messages. When I exit the game, the texts don't come in either. I still get phone calls without a problem (usually asking me if my sms is working.) I am using the original Droid. I seem to have enough memory while playing the games. Anybody have any thoughts on this? Any help would be appreciated.

I am having the same problem. It is starting to take its toll on my work I am trying to avoid by playing games on my phone. Help please.
