Notification menu does not work anymore

Hi everyone, I would love some assistance in solving this problem.

I have owned this phone since the day it came out & suddenly I've got this new problem. The notifications bar at the top of the screen no longer can be dragged open when the phone is closed. When I open the phone & it rotates into landscape mode, the notification bar can be opened. Has anyone had this happen to their Droids yet? And if so, how'd you fix it? Now I have to slide open the phone every time I get a text, a tweet, a new e-mail.. it's starting to become a real pain. Help!

I'm having this exact issue.. only when vertical does the notification bar not work. Any ideas?
