notifications

I am coming from a Blackberry. Does the notifications on the droid resemble the way they are implemented on a Blackberry, where it lets you know at a glance that you have new emails, sms, facebook messages, etc.?

The notification bar has different icons for different notifications.

When you glance up at the notification bar OR when you pull it down you will be able to determine which notifications you have and when its pulled down you can click on each specific one to bring you to that application.

Is their an app that anyone knows about that will let you see the notifications like the Iphone? I
