Now VZW has seriously peeved me off....

I'm on my fourth fascinate. I think vzw is letting their certification process slip in the interest of salvaging more phones.

I've always been a happy vzw customer up until recently with this warranty process

verizon has no control or say over the refurbishment of phones... That is done by the manufacturer and then shipped to verizon. Alot of the time the certified like new phone will ship to you directly from the manufacturer.

I thought the CPO process was a checklist done at a Verizon facility

At least that's what I was told 2 phones ago. The phones I've received have had the verizon cpo seal.

I was directed here http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/splash/preowned.jsp
where I read that they are qc'd by verizon. But that's just what I was told

I apologize, at first you seemed to be one of the whiny customers who was just trying to play the system. I haven't dealt with the d2g much at all, and didn't realize how bad it does suck. Looks like the global radio and overclocked to 1.2ghz processor made it sort of a lemon. Today I had a customer with the exact issue you mentioned, and I instantly inserted foot into mouth. I still don't understand how you've had so many replacements in such a short time, though looks like you just had unfortunate luck with phones.

they will tell you that at the stores my fiancée used to be an assistant manager for Verizon Wireless but if you look at the address when you get a CPO device most likely have come from a manufacturer or company used by the manufacturer to receive and ship devices.

Its not just something said in stores, it's posted on their website. Are you saying they are lying on their site? If so I'm sure a lot of customers have the right to know. Just seems that if VZW has "no control" over manufacturer claims they shouldnt put their stamp on it claiming its been through "their" 100 plus point inspection process. Maybe thats the problem with the faulty device I've been getting. Maybe they really ARENT going through this process. But I wouldnt go as far as to say they have no control, when they claim they do and clearly have an ability to.

Not to mention a company as substantial as VZW should definitely stand behind the products they sell and hold their manufacturers responsible for faulty equiptment and not expect the consumer to do so. From most consumers point of view they bought a phone from Verizon and dont care that the phones weren't made by Verizon.

VZW has taken great care of me and thats why I fork over a bunch of cash to them lol. In my situation they recognized that the products that were being sent to me were el crappo and provided me with a comparible model that will hopefully not have the same problems. (my fascinate took a dump after the 2.2 update and every phone after they sent had the same issue. apparently a bunch of the fascinates are doing the same thing.)

I think they took good care of me.....again. One thing I have to say, and I say this all the time, is at least they try. I mean other carriers I have been with were far more difficult to deal with on these types of issues.

I am very happy with this DX. I loved my D2....and now realize that I love the DX as well. Maybe even more. I am still thinking of upgrading to the DX2 but I can't pull the trigger as I do find myself missing the physical keyboard occasionally. I am using that T9Flex now and it makes it a bit better but still.
