OBD ELM327 pairs but won't connect

Got the same dongle and it works fine with my Galaxy S2 but I haven't been able to have it working with my Nexus 5. Looks like it pairs but that's about it. Same car, same device, other phone (and android version). It also doesn't pair with my Nexus 7 tablet. I'll try 6789 as pin tonight but I doubt this will be the solution.

update: it only accepts pin 1234. It detects faulty pins

Necro bump here, but I know some people are still buying this adapter so I thought I would clear up some misinformation above, or my experience with this adapter at least. I've used the ELM 327 with the blue and orange sticker (pictured above) on numerous vehicles from German, Asian, and NA manufactured vehicles. I've only used it on Samsung devices.

If you are asked for a password, 6789 always has worked for me. I've been asked for it at varying points in the process or sometimes not at all. Make sure your phone bluetooth is turned on, make sure the car is running, then pair your phone with CHX. Launch Torque, go to MENU/Settings/OBD2 adapter settings. Make sure your Connection is set to Bluetooth and not Wifi. I personally also have the auto-timing disabled. Then choose Bluetooth device - choose CHX. Might ask for the password at this point sometimes.

That has got me connected every time.
