OFFICAL OTA .zip Installation Guide Droid Razr & Razr Maxx

Make sure you extract the matts utility to c:/. That was mentioned in one of his other versions posted.

Thanks, totally looked over that. This did work and it now processes Option 1, but.....

I can get to the point where it starts writing the system, basically the third time you hit enter to continue. It writes the cdt.bin, devtree, and then system. It finishes the first system write but never finishes the second one. Not sure what is going on here.

after it locked up on the install i just did the reset wiped the cash and just did it again. it worked perfectly. thank you so much guys

Yeah, my phone was on that "boot patch" line for like fifteen minutes. I went back to recovery and wiped the cache twice again then reloaded. I have just made my first post using ICS 211.

Reverted from rooted ICS 6.14.75 to rooted GB 6.12.181 using Matt's awesome RAZR Utility

Perfect thanks, it all makes sense now, we were talking about this a couple pages back. This means the FIRST installation is SUPPOSED to fail, then make sure to not allow a fullboot, go into recover and flash again. Profit =D

How do you know when it fails? I tried it once earlier and since returned it back to stock. I was going to wait for the OTA but I have the urge to try again. Did you update the OP? I looked but it didn't seem to be any different.

Slight modification for me...I didn't get the google experience after step 5...it crashed. So I restarted...and then did a factory reset. All buttons works as expected and it looks great!

1. Did Matt's 1.7 Option 1 First
2. Followed the Steps to Update ICS
3. Received Error 7
4. Reboot
5. Powered down and Followed the Steps to Update ICS
6. Factory Reset in settings

Thanks guys!!!

How were you able to return to stock??????

I don't remember all the steps exactly. But ran the matt utility thing. After my phone rebooted it got the icon i described earlier with the droid laying down and a red exclamation mark. I held down all the buttons and followed these steps that the OP gave to you earlier.

1. Turn off phone, plug in charger.
2. Go to the AP Fastboot menu. (Hold Volume Up, Down, and power button alltogether, then go down and select AP Fastboot)
3. Press and hold Volume Up (+), Volume Down (-), and Power button down for 10 seconds. (10 Mississippi )
4. After that quickly press and hold Volume Up (+) and Volume Down (-) for 10 seconds. (10 Mississippi again)
5. Select BP Tools or the very last choice and press the power button to select it.
6. If nothing happens there, go back to the menu and press the power button on the last choice to select it again.
7. You should see the big red "M" and should take you to the battery charging icon.

It took a few minutes but it started back up again. I hope this helps. Does anyone else have any suggestions for this guy? He's been having trouble for hours and I haven't seen and responses to him in a while.

How long has it been like that for you? I'm sorry I really dont remember. I was too busy freaking out reading posts lol. I was about to call a friend but then it started back up.

You did everything I said? The matt utility and all those steps?

I can't do the Matt utility, my battery is too low. I followed the thing about the BP Tools and I can't get anything. I am freaking out man. My wife is gonna kill me if I can't get this phone working right. She's already pissed off I bought it without an upgrade.

Okay, I went ahead and did it. For the record, the 1st install failed as expected, went into recovery and repeated steps like everyone else. But now that I have ICS, my 4G doesn't seem to be working. I enabled the LTE/CDMA network obviously, but I'm still stuck on 3G. Anyone else having this problem?

UPDATE: The 4G issue seems to have resolved itself. I guess it was an ID10T error.

I think someone said if you get it into ap fastboot mode. Its the mode you need to be in to connect it to the computer. Whats your phone doing now? You might as well try to do the matt utility thing. I don't know if you have any other choice.

I would be happy if not having 4g was my problem
