OFFICAL OTA .zip Installation Guide Droid Razr & Razr Maxx

No such luck.
Removing unneeded files from preinstall...
Patching preinstall files...
E:Error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip
(Status 0)
Installation aborted.

I had the same type of issue when I tried to update. Got the whole status 7 error and everything. I used Matts utiliity 1.7. The new one. Did steps one, then two, and then wiped EVERYTHING and installed the zip from the SD card and it worked perfect. I think it had something to do with some left over files from either bootstrap or safestrap. Not sure but it is up and working great on my phone now.

On start up i had no actual data and i had Togo into the setting the default network was global set it to cdma/lte and all's well again and running smooth

I think it's due to lack of root.

According to a very similar post on droidrzr (Upgrade From .181 To .211 (Sideload) - DroidRzr.com)...

The way you got there is putting it into the /cache directory of the PHONE (Hence, root needed) We are doing the "SD Card" way through recovery.

Did you reboot after you cleared cache? Then tried to install again?

Correct. Stock, never rooted, running 6.12.181.

Did you try the new step 6 I put? Clearing cache twice?

Yeah I knew rooted phones/bootstrap/safestrap leftovers would mess some of this up. But even clean fully stock never before rooted people had that error. Clearing the cache should of taken care of it, but hasn't for all.

The first time I cleared cache it didn't go through but the second time did after the first clearing I tried to boot up and had to reset off the moto screen and then cleared the second time and it went through.

I'll give that a try after I have my google accounts set up again.
Matt's utility saved my bacon.

Hey guys I'm a little worried...I tried this the first time and It didn't work...got the same error as everybody else. (I've never rooted before either, so I figured I'd run into no problems). Unfortunately, I'm trying to run Matt's utility to recover back to Gingerbread, and I'm having some issues because my battery is almost dead on my phone apparently. I'm just wondering if I leave it plugged into the charger, will it actually charge? No matter what I do now, It just sits on the red "Dual Core" screen and nothing happens...I'm just curious as to whether my battery is actually charging or not. If not, I'm basically screwed, am I not?

There you go dancedroid let us know what happens, clearing cache should be the fix. I just got done applying the update on my phone and it went by smoothly.

So I just realized that you said you installed this update. Where did you get the file? You said it was official over the air. Was it pushed to your phone and you pulled the file?
