"Official" Beautiful Widgets Skinning Thread

Some times people just use the home button to leave the market.. this leaves it "running".

If you use the back arrow all the way back out of it (recommended) you kill it and start fresh the next visit.

Did Tama mention how far he is from 3.0?

Some goes for a lot of apps.. try opening the Gallery app, cruise to a specific folder or pic, then hit home button, when you open the gallery again it will still be where you left it (i.e. still running). If you back out of it (and others) you kill it and start fresh next time.

Haven't seen a timeframe for 3.0 yet. But since Tama saw BW was the #1 paid app on the Market and Touiteur was the #10 paid app (not bad for only having 2 paid apps) he is all fired up even more than usual and doing all kinds of cool stuff!

Heck BW is very cool as it is now!! BUT, I have a feeling "3" is gonna be WAY cool!

Yeah i am def diggin the new features of 2.99. The new Color Text just gives me more ideas to work with. No rush for 3.0. Just the way he hypes it through his updates is enough to intrigue me, tho. lol

I hate to repost this, but does anyone have the skindevkit.zip they can upload and post a link to? Tama's servers appear to be down/having issues. I'm afraid my original request may have gotten lost with all of the talk about the latest and new release.

Do you mean without having to go to the market?
Are you asking if there is an APK file?

Here you go.

Alex, unzip the files onto your SD card in this folder: /data/beautifulwidgets/skins

So you will have:

/data/beautifulwidgets/skins/RealSense/am.png
/data/beautifulwidgets/skins/RealSense/background.png
etc
etc

Then the skin will show up when you configure the widget.

Here you go, finished Landscape mode (for the Droid) for both Versions!

This is a very nice theme. It looks almost like the HTC weather widget and Weather & Toggle Widget H7C theme. But the spacing of the digits in the clock is really off. Is there anyway to fix it and bring the digits closer together to give it a more clean look?

Unfortunately there is no way with skins to move the "centered location" for the digits..trying to get them closer like the HTC version was the hardest part of it.. that was about as close as I could get them without touching.

The is a reason some of the components look like HTC stuff <ducking>...and why it isn't on the BW skin server :icon_eek:

It is also handy that my wife has an HTC Eris.

Bottomline is that was the best I could do with my skills to get it to look as close to the HTC clock as possible.. wish I had a dollar for everytime I held my wife's Eris beside my Droid comparing the "look" and then making subtle changes!

I am sure one of the pros here could do better, but getting the digits and therefore the flip backgrounds closer is about as good as it is going to get....without making the digits much smaller.

There are a few other Sense skins if you don't like that one. They were all posted in this thread at one point or another.
