*Official Droid3 Specs

While I can't own all of the Droid line....I like the slider keyboard. Didn't think the D2 was enough of an upgrade to worry about. But this is. Its a little bigger, better keyboard, more RAM than the D1( even though everyones complaining about it), and I like that its the dual core OMAP instead of the Tegra.

sent from somewhere...

Same here. I love the form factor of my original droid. I use the slide-out keyboard daily. What I would like is a larger screen, more memory, a better slide-out keyboard, a faster CPU and a better camera....maybe a front facing camera as well.

Hey...wait.....I just described the Droid 3! LOL

4G is available where I live.....I'm just not interested in any of the current 4G phones and personally I'd like to see the 4G chipset go through a few revisions, improvements and mature a little before I worry about having it.

It would be extra sweet if it was unlocked and vanilla Android OS....but Motorola really likes their "blur".

After having my D2, Im really liking the size of it and the keyboard. So I would have been seriously considering this phone if it had 4G. The fact that it doesnt drops my interest to zero.

I share your sentiments regarding 4G. It's available in my area, but the 4G radios seem to have a significant drain on the battery, so I can do without. My biggest gripes are the RAM and the fact that Blur is included. The possibility of a pentile screen also concerns me a bit, but I may still spring for this baby when it's all said and done. I'm an avid user of the slide-out keyboard, and this one looks to be a big improvement over the D1.

A friend of mine got the Droid X2 and I wanted to check out the screen for myself.

I have no issues with the pentile screen, it looked fantastic and better than my Droids screen.

So this will have all that blur crap running on it? So sad. Hopefully mod-able.

does "locked bootloader" mean it is not mod-able or are those two things not related? I may stick to my D1 if this isn't mod-able, I love my D1 but I don't know if would love it as much if it was stock. I've had the D1 since release day and it has served me well, best phone I ever owned.

well considering Motorola is starting to unlock their devices now (ATRIX) this one may be unlocked too

... and this leak didn't reveal anything new nor answer the important questions, namely:

1. is the screen pentile? (rumor: pentile, which is bad)
2. how much ram does it get? (rumor: 512Mb, which is way not enough)
3. is it unlockable? (rumor: it is as per motorola's announcement, but who knows...)

I dig the GSM capability, didn't know it had this. Would make traveling abroad much nicer in not forcing you to switch phones. I wonder if you can use the GSM service in the US as well, for some dual-carrier action. Anyone know about this?

it has already been confirmed it will be 1GHz dual-core processor

The specs are a bit disappointing...

Will be interesting to see how this goes... however, it now appears the Bionic is hot on its heels and packing 4g. Since they're starting to roll out 4g where I live (San Diego area), I might just wait for it.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to pass on this one.

I'm holding out for 4G, at least 1GB RAM, no physical keyboard, unlocked bootloader.

My rooted D1 still holds it's own compared to anything currently available.

What's the story on the RAM? I hear it's a better type of RAM, but less of it. So I'd like to know how effective the RAM situation is. Anyone know? I would like to be able to switch tasks a little more effectively than what's been going on with the OG, where I can MAYBE get 2 apps switching reliably without being shut down, and they must be LIGHT apps. Would really like to see that situation improve.

I'm so dense it finally took hold that I can't keep several apps in memory at the same time. Not really a big deal but something that a good chunk of RAM would solve.

Just read up on a partial review on android authority. Doesn't look so hot now :(. I wanted it but now i'm gonna pass. 512 ram, pentile (possibly in final production run) screen. 2 things that I personally don't like. Other's may... but not me :(. Waiting for something with more ram. :)
