ok, ATK/Task Killing Apps... Good or Bad? Please help

So i hear apps like advanced task killer and other task killing apps are bad. But i aslo hear that they are good if you know which apps to pick / how to use ATK.
Can someone clarify whats bad about it or how i can use it in a good way.

The long and short of it is that if your phone is working properly, you wont need a task killer. The OS does a great job of handling tasks and memory management.
