Whats this MADNESS..... Im unable to install soem apps. anybody have an idea how to fix this?

This might be considered somewhat off topic, but I am wondering if those with many force closes and reboots are doing something that the rest of us don't do (or haven't done). For example, I hardly text and yet I know that texting or twitter might be constantly running and in use on some phones.

But what I really wonder is whether some of these phones have half fried CPUs. When I used to overclock my old 700 MHz Pentium II it eventually got sick. Overclocking often entails overheating and that is why those old Pentium II CPUs would reboot.

Am I the only one on this forum with this type of concern?

Can't you just use the Yahoo app from the market? That's what I use and it works flawlessly.

I flashed 12.24.1 over the 12.24.0 without wipe. I still do not see the protected apps (Slingplayer). TiBu works-around this though.

Yahoo mail's SMTP still a no go. I know Yahoo is now a PITA but I've had it since the mid nineties and hard to change. I actually have 4 accounts with them. The paid ones on POP3 accounts related to my website/yahoo hosting works fine. It's the web based FREE accounts that do not.

There are a lot of people that use Yahoo mail, hence all the posts and workarounds made about this issue when the D1 came out. Then Motorola and yahoo somehow fixed the problem (I think the fix was with the 2.01 OTA Android Update but not sure).

I have tried almost all the ROMs on this board (ROM junkie) and none of them have this issue. They maybe using parts of the original software shipped with D1 that had this issue but I'm puzzled. TiBu does not fix this either, still no smtp outgoing mail.

that's what I'm using but it's nice to have all your email accounts in one place, the native email app. I even have the gmail account in there to see the "combined inbox". This problem was solved by an OTA in the original D1 so I see no reason it can't be fixed in my favorite ROM

Hey I don't know what I did but every time I try to move my app shortcuts to a different page or spot it will just Make a copy of it.what could they problem be?

It's good to see somebody else actually have this problem. I posted about it a few pages back. My solution was to give up on MIUI and go back to CyanogenMod.

Actually, before giving up on MIUI, the first workaround that I found was to just load a different launcher app instead of using the built-in MIUI launcher. I used Zeam, but you could probably download LauncherPro or ADW if you preferred.

Yes, and get the same results. seems the only way to silence the notification audibles is to place the phone on vibrate or mute. Im trying to see if its just isolated to my phone so i can officially sumbit it as a bug to the Dev.

so sliding the rockers throught the system settings and with a 3rd party app (audio manager) will not work. notification sounds still comes through.

Have you tried using Audio Manager?

Another sound related issue is when you set your volume levels to your desired point, it will reset after rebooting. So I put phone volume at level 3 and after reboot it will default to level 6

Yeah, but that will kill all audibles including my ringer which I don't want to do. I have profile settings on my toggle settings app to kill all notification sounds except alarm and ringer. I don't even want notifications on vibrate at nighttime.

So the rockers under the settings don't work and the only way to silence the notifications is to completely silence my phone?

Instead of sliding then down manually, use the toolbar in the drop down notifications menu and turn them off by using the "normal" button. If it's lit, your ringtones and notifications will sound. If it's unlit or grayed out then they won't sound (but will still vibrate depending on your settings).

The protected apps now work, yoooohoooo. Slingplayer is now installed. Would hate to pay $30 for an app but had to flash another rom everytime I wanted to use it. Thanks. I redid everything from scratch and now works. Installed 12.24.0 then flashed 12.24.1 without wiping. Before once rebooted the music icon was flashing for a few seconds. Maybe that was the sign " the matrix " had a glitch

Where do we submit bugs? I really want the yahoo free mail working.

Hate to suggest this (not really) but this would be a rom I don't mind paying for.

I read through a bunch of pages... but have to admit not all 75 of them... is anyone else getting force closes when sending texts? I just installed this rom yesterday (did data and cache wipes first), but get force closes when i hit "send" on a text every time. I even tried using handscent to see if it's an app thing, but that also force closes.. so it's something deeper.

Any ideas?

another bug is in the recent call logs, only numbers in your address book will show up...so no address book numbers shows up in the entry screen, but you do not see the number. I think this has more to do with a white-on-white text issue then an actual bug.

One thing that had helped me with some of the issues has been yo flash my original rom I made with rom manager with complete wipe then install fresh copy of 12.24.0 with wipe again and then 12.24.1 flash with no wipe. Also make sure you do not have any miui backups made with miui backup app that comes with this rom. Look under all 3 tabs and erase. My experience had been that the cleaner the install, the less bugs I experience. Pain to add all customization but worth it. Titanium backups are also quite buggy for me. I have the paid version of titanium but don't use as often as I thought. Makes the roms too buggy. I just use it once in a while to restore data only for games (angry bird). Fresh install the program from market though. Happy New Year

Why do I lose all the lock-screen functionality when I put in a passkey/pattern? I love the music controls but don't want to keep my phone unlocked... little help?

Turns out it was Titanium Backup that messed up my messaging... I reflashed the 0 and 1 zips and texts are working correctly now.

So as a side note, are there any backup utils for call logs and texts that will let you transfer from another rom to this miui?
