Booch, if you have a few minutes would you please document the steps you took with TiBa (create a backup, data, apps, etc and what you restored and when) I think that would be very helpful for other members.
Now that I am home and on a computer, this will be easier. Understand that I do 3 backups before making changes, a MIUI System backup of all settings, a Titanium Backup of the apps and data and a Nandroid backup of the entire phone.
Before installing the updated ROM, I went into Titanium Backup and simply hit the Menu button and selected
Batch, in order to get to the preset batch entries.
Once into the Batch processing screen, I select (RUN)
Backup all user apps + system data.
I leave all entries selected (checked) and hit the
Run the batch operation button.
What I did now, was to go into ClockworkMod Recovery and did a Nandroid backup. I wiped the cache partition then wiped the data/factory settings. I know, probably overkill, but can't hurt and takes little time. I then went in and selected the ZIP to install from the SDCard and let it install. I cleared the cache once again, for good measure, then allowed the phone to reboot.
On reboot, the phone is clean and fresh. I entered the data required for "registering" the phone for me. Once that was done, the phone began the process of downloading everything again. I went in and manually stopped each app individually, except for the root apps that I would need, as well as Titanium Backup and the key. This is going to take some time, especially if you have a lot of apps, like me. I then went into Titanium Backup the same as above and this time selected
Restore missing apps + all system data.
I left selections as shown in the capture. Once this was completed, I then did a MIUI System restore, selecting all of the options. Once this was done, I still wanted to go and make sure custom ringtones and notifications remained, and all mail and app settings are still there. I haven't had enough of an opportunity to play around with this ROM yet, and I may do some things that are unnecessary, but the above has worked for me so far. Good luck!
