Yea sorry guys I tried to get him to forward it but he told me he couldn't and that those type of emails he gets from Verizon supposedly self destruct and delete themselves in 12 to 24 hrs... this is a legitimate source though... this guy has been my best friend since we were in diapers basically and he has an x too so he's just as excited about this stuff as we are...

I didn't know Lotus Notes came with the Mission Impossible/Inspector Gadget plug-in.

I have a friend that works for VZW... he just received an email prompting him on the release of froyo for the X in the next week... the rest of the email went on about the features froyo brings.... yada yada yada... I've already updated but I'm sure this is good news to some of you

You have leaked Froyo which isn't the official version. The leaked version doesn't even have JIT but it is faster than Eclair. It'll definitely come September.

Is this official that the leaked version doesn't have JIT? I have read that JIT just doesn't effect OMAP processors as much as it does Snapdragon.

So does anyone know anything about this? I know Linpack doesn't properly support according to Android Central....

But I can't find anything from anyone proving that JIT is not in this build.

I'm shocked! No confirmation email. I like the part about the email self destructing. Classic!

Now wouldn't make for a nice holiday weekend

First of all, just because you read on the web that some guy knows some other guy that has claims to have some top secret info about a release date for the OS upgrade, and that the proof of this plan was in an email that self destructed, that doesn't necessarily mean that it is true.

Second, if you really will have a "nice holiday weekend" because of a software update for your phone, you are probably spending too much time with your phone!
