Order the Droid X from Best Buy: Avoid Mail in Rebate!

i pre ordered mine on friday no issue got there @ 10 when opened and was first one there to preorder, will have mine at least on 15th hoping atleast will get on 14th.

im ready to have the X, have had smartsphones for 8 yrs now and ready for a good one finally. i upgrade when i have upgrade avail so first chance sense droid was introduced.

Pre-ordered mines today, as I was the first also. Adding a new line and I'm going to cancel my Droid line since it's under the old ETF agreement. So basically, it's like I'm paying the one year upgrade price.

That wont work there is a 6 month wait after canceling service before getting a new device.

i went inside best buy and told that i want pre order Driod X and thye just gave me paper to sign it they didnt check if im egilabe to upgrade or anything so hope they would let me to upgrade

i'm up for my Verizon NE2 discount ($100) on July 27th, so i have to buy from VZW directly and not from BB to get this discount right?

You can get the NE2 discount from BB as well.. though I had an issue with the $100 NE2 discount with them for my droid as they seemed to think it was only $50

Using his upgrade (he originally wanted a chocolate touch- I guess he's getting a 'slight' upgrade...)... Let the games begin - countdown 17 days...

I'm glad you brought this up. I call BB today to ask about doing the same thing. I want to use my daughter's upgrade to get a Droid X for myself. Then I want to give her the Storm that I am using now.

I was told that if I buy from them, I have to activate the Droid X on her line and leave it there for 30 days. Can any of you BB customers confirm (or better yet explain) this for me?

I would prefer to pre-order from VZW.com but it doesn't look like they are going to do that. I also don't have the time to stand in line on the 15th. So, I would like to pre-order from BB, but it looks like that is going to be an option either.

I guess I will have to wait until the 15th and order from VZW.com.

Are there any cons to preordering from Best Buy? I might just do that today. I went into the verizon store in NYC today and they said theyre expecting about 10-15 phones on the 15th. Preordering from them may start the 8th.

If you order the phone from Verizon online, you do not need to hassle with the rebate.
