Original Droid constantly trying to sign-in to Google

I have had this happen when i install a rom and then need to install google maps. I have to 'allow' the permissions for maps to connect with my google account. Possible unistalling maps and reistalling if you can or run fix permissions if you are rooted could be a solution.
