The general danger temperature, that I've heard, seems to around 120 F. I have mine set to turn down the CPU at 105 F, just because I want to be on the very safe side.

I wouldn't go straight to 1.4 GHz. Start low and work your way up. I currently have my phone set to boot at UV 1.25 GHz. I have yet to see it hit the 105 mark, or have any kind of problem.

ok well I've tweaked out my phone more with rpofiles in setcpu some are tht I have my temp pro which under clocks to 600 max 300 min if I reach temps higher than116 , screenlock is at 300 max 300 min, charging and full are at 1400 max 1400 min, my droid has been off charrger for little over an hour coninously running music played parallel kingdom for half hour sms and browsing batt life is at 70 % and I have yet to go over 100 farhenite now tht is said can u explain why I would build up and if I overclock my fone using a script then set cpu to use on boot do I have to re oc with terminal? Oh and I have a low batt pro tht kicks in at 49% tht dropps it to 600 and 300

Why 1400 max/min? It just seems like overkill. I would turn down the min at least some, but with your other profiles you should be safe anyway.

I suggest building up, because it's possible the phone could somehow get stuck at the high speed without you knowing causing it to overheat and possibly kill the phone. However, if you've had the phone at that all day I wouldn't be afraid, but I suggest keeping a close eye on it for another day or two.

What are you using to overclock the phone? Scripts? Terminals? It sounds like your really over complicating the process. I would suggest JRummy's Overclock app, I think it's $2.00 on the market. I have yet to have a problem with it, and it was updated now supporting it's own profiles.
