I am not. Hence why I am going through all this trouble. If I was id backup and reflash. Btw search button didn't work. But both volume keys at once did =\

Gingerbread is amazing once you iron the initial kinks. and if your gonna tinker, having the ability to flash a SBF is vital. I can't count the number of times I've bricked and then saved my X

any suggestions for what to flash to? i mean... i had my way around wmo but kinda new to android. I don't like having to replace all of my contacts/apps/and ringtone settings/etc lol... maybe thats lazy? or maybe i just dont feel like spending the time to set everything back up again... is this the case with rooting?

No root just gives you access to install/tweak factory options, it's like being the administrator on windows. You don't need to flash unless your bricked, most force close issues/ reboot issues are from incorrect data in the cache.
