Pandora Radio, random station play?

Does Pandora Radio offer random station play? I have a wide range of musical taste, and would like to randomly play all of my different stations. When I use Quickmix it only plays from my country music station. I want to get some rock or pop or something different once in a while. So I'm not sure what Quickmix does when it is only playing from one station currently.

My impression is that QuickMix does what you're asking for. I, too, have a rather eclectic set of Pandora "stations" ranging from Texas country music to piano concertii and Broadway tunes. When I turn on QuickMix I get a mix of songs from all those stations.

On the other hand, you might be experiencing a phenomenon I experienced a couple of years ago when I first started listening to Pandora. I created a bunch of stations that at least as far as Pandora was concerned were very similar, e.g. Cole Porter, Ella Fitzgerald, Diana Krall, jazz vocalists, etc. I noticed that I often heard the same song on different stations and concluded I was better off with fewer but broader stations.

You might also try experimenting with settings on the Pandora website where you can "broaden" or "narrow" individual stations' parameters. That might, however, be a feature limited to paid subscribers.

And that brings me to the last suggestion. I bit the bullet awhile back and subscribed to Pandora to eliminate the 40 hours per month limit. If you haven't done that it may be that the algorithms that select your music are different from mine.

Well after reading your reply, I deleted all my country stations (which was only 3) and tried Quickmix, and it seemed to mix it properly. I then added one country channel and tried Quickmix again. The first song was country, and I thought: "Here it goes again with country music". But then I hit the next song button and it went to another station and played some rock. So it appears it is working. I'm just amazed that it landed on country music probably 20 times without going to another channel prior to what I did here. So, seems to be working fine, thanks for the reply and the help!!

OH!! I also restarted my phone. I'm not sure if that had anything to do with it, but thought I would mention it in case anyone else has this same problem.

i do not have any problems with it, quickmix plays a song from all the different stations i have. check your settings. good luck.
