I was fortunate. My son was awesome. He still is
10 years old and he really is well behaved.... he has his moments.. but what kid doesn't
I have to say, with three boys, I've got some doozies for stories... like the time my oldest thought it was a great idea to go grocery cart riding with the grocery cart bungeed to the back of his best friends car. I went to bed after midnight with him and his buddies sleeping over still horsing around in his bedroom. I got woken up at 4am with my son at my bedroom door, blood from head to toe, telling me, "mom, I think I need to go to the hospital." Ya think?
They tried to tell me that he took a nose dive running down the hill of our street. As he was getting stitched, bandaged and medicated, I was trying to get his friends to spill what really happened. He had road burn down the side of his body, stitches in his face, arm and side, two broken teeth, and a missing fingernail. They wanted me to believe it was from running down the hill on our street. I told them I would eventually find out.
A few days later I was visiting with my neighbor and she said, "oh man, I heard what happened to Ryan." I said, "good... tell me." One of Ryan's friend's told his parents who told my neighbor, who now could tell me. He got tangled in the grocery cart and was dragged before they realized it.
Talk about one angry mother. I sat the three of them on the couch and screamed...probably mostly how he could've been killed. They just looked and kept saying "we know momma Marta, we are so sorry, we are so sorry!"
That episode came in very handy throughout his teen years. Every time he said "how stupid do you think I am?" All I would say is "grocery cart!"
That is only one story. There are lots!
