Right now the people at Microsoft are probably scrambling as their product, the surface pro, is being mentioned in the same game as Peyton Manning and Tom Brady but not in a good way. During the first half of the AFC Championship game the Patriot's Surface Pro Tablets stopped working. The people at Apple are already rushing to put a commercial together to poke fun at the mishap. Unfortunately for us android fans there are no android tablets that can really stand toe to toe in this argument.

Not to argue for or against the Pats but had this happened in Gillette Field to the Broncos the news would have been bigger.

#spygate
#deflategate
#surfaceprogate ?

I don't think them not working has anything to do with the product

And you think the people at Apple would care. To the victors go the spoils......
How long before we see an iPad commercial making light of that, I am thinking they are scrambling to have one in place for their already slotted super bowl commercial.

It would make a good commercial ...personally I'd go with a hot girl but that's just me ...more effective

6s Plus

That will be commercial #2 :D. Or they could combine it by having a commercial where Apple makes fun of the surface pro blacking out during the big game and have a cheerleader saying something about wanting something that just work.

There was another televised game this season where the tablets went out AND the backup photos went out too. I don't remember who it was but I remember them talking about how it was affecting both defenses. I think it was a Steelers or Eagles game and I think it was raining or some other foul weather.

Dallas and Washington on a Monday night.

Update: NFL says server power issue, not tablet glitch, caused Microsoft Surface outage on Monday Night Football - GeekWire

Other than say Apple or Samsung making fun of the event this will blow over. Now had it been the reverse, as I said above, where it happened at Gillette to the Broncos than it probably would have been made bigger because of spygate and deflategate (though deflategate was an atmospheric issue and no balls being deflated).

Anyone with a shred of technical knowledge knows this wasn't a Surface device problem, but a networking/communication issue. I am a little disappointed at the title of this entire thread. This is like VZW having an outage and handsets getting blamed for it.

I think you're being a little harsh there, bro.
Anyone that took 2 minutes to actually read what happened would know. But anyone who just heard about it 2nd hand? I don't care how techy you are, if you aren't given the whole story you should automatically blame the network? Especially when it ONLY happened to the Patriots? Well, if it was a network thing, why just the Patriots?

<----Many shreds of knowledge.

Doubt it. Things like this happen all the time. Noc's go down, servers bsod, get hung etc.
oh believe me, it's getting discussed in the next meeting by both the network provider and definitely MS b/c theyre the ones catching the heat via the media which we all know is undisputed king of logic and honesty...
