Performance w/LauncherPro

I've installed the free version from the market on 6 devices so far, and the owners are universally happy with it vs blurhome. In each of those cases it was a performance improvement.

Without seeing your device I can't say why it's not working out so well for you. Though, I did take off a task killer from one of those phones that was running in automatic mode (shouldn't use those anyway, unless you know exactly what you're doing, and vzw should _not_ be putting them on phones in store).

Idiot Verizon girl in the store tried to put it on mine and asked if I wanted her to explain how it worked. I had a chuckle and told her I would rather set it up and walked out.

For the people that have the increased performance from LP vs stock, can you share your settings with us? Couple issues I have are: double tapping home showing preview screens are jerky all the time unless I keep doing it consecutively and eventually is smooth. The default time/date and messages widget sometimes has graphically glitches and resizing them usually fixes it. For example, I have the time/date widget on my main home screen on the top taking up 3x1 space. With this config, you should see the time on the left and date on the right. Well, every once in awhile it'll mess up and only show the time and no date even though it's still 3x1. The message widget is messed up permanently. I have it set to 3x1 and the red banner with the envelope should be on the left most part taking up 1x1 space but instead it's taking up 2x1 and blocks the white space where the messages are displayed. Usually depending on the size of the widget, the banner should change size and placement, but it's permanently 2x1 and doesn't change even when resized. Is anyone else having this issue or is it just me?

Answering these questions may be helpful for people having lag and slowness issues.
How many home screens?
Are they mostly filled with widgets?
What settings are you using under preferences?

I did notice an improvement when I uncheck "keep in memory." I feels more snappy now and when viewing the preview screens it is smooth and not jerky. I'll play around with it some more but I still have the widget issues mentioned above. Oh well, I guess I'll just wait and see if those issues get resolved.

I had the same results much better with it un checked. D1 with 2.2 unrooted

Meh, I tried Launcher Pro and didn't really find it any more useful than what comes with the Droid2. Maybe for past versions of Android it was necessary, but now?

So it pretty much sounds like launcherpro improves performance, unless there are issues with buggy performance. Would you guys recommend it over the Dinc?

I'm not really sure but my coworker has a Dinc and boy is it snappy while mine feels really sluggish, with or without LP

I'm not sure if this is a bug or not. When I shut off my phone and power it up my quick contacts only shows the icons and doesn't link the numbers assigned to them. I have resize the icons and then it'll reset properly.

Now I can't drag icons to screens to the left . . . grrrr.

This happened before I got LauncherPro and was fixed by a reboot. Now it has started back up again . . .

when launcher pro tried to get my money for resizing widgets that came free with the phone....ones that i can resize all i want without launcher pro....i had to uninstall it. thats just wrong.

I use LP plus on my D1 and love it (most of the time). I installed it on my wife's D2, and it seems to work ok, with the exception that it takes over as the default launcher with no way to clear the default in settings. I of course added Home switcher widget and tried to assign the default to the stock one using that with no success. I can switch back and forth, but the home button always launches LP. It's uninstalled until I can figure that out, or get LP set up the way she likes it.

I'm also facing the same situation. I can't figure it out. Home Switcher always reverts to a no default selected situation.
