perhaps I should not own a smart phone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On the stock home screens... no! You press and hold on the widget from the app drawer to add it to the homescreen. Took some figuring out on that one! Other home screen launchers (Apex, Go-launcher, Nova) work the old way (unless you are rooted). I wonder if the Rezound's ICS widgets also are now added from the app drawer too. Not sure if that is an ICS thing or a Moto-ICS thing.

Tis, we are going to have him a pro and impressing hid wife in no time :)

Yes, we must keep harmony in the family! Well, besides the fact that we like helping people get the most out of their phones... but this is an added bonus!

I recommend the Beautiful widgets app. It has at 4 different sized icon/widgets for the home screen. I also like Clockr. It shows time on your home screen spelled out

Do you still get the option for widgets by long pressing on an open space on the home screen with ICS?

Oh, :-D and welcome to the Forums!!!

not i do not get the option for widgets by long pressint on an open space so that is where things have gone wrong.

Asher, that feature changed with ICS. Go to the app drawer, along the top tap widgets and then long press on the widget you want and it will add it to the home screen. Then once it is on home screen you can press and hold on it to move it where you want.

Thanks JSM! Asher, that is super! Wish I could see your wife's face when she sees her new widget. And you can legitimately blame the delay on android changing the operating system which changed how we added widgets. She probably would think to herself, "Ok dear, whatever you say." Lol!
