phone call disconnection issues

Last night I was checking voicemail, and every time I put the phone to my ear, it hung up. I eventually had to hold the phone near my ear but not let it touch my face to get through the phone call. Any suggestions?

I too have had thee phone calls today that disconnected. Tried *228 to try to update and got two beeps and a message "your phone could not be activated". Also on one call everytime I spoke the phone tried to dial. Is it me,the phone (my second Droid),or Verizon system?
